Enable States and Victims to battle on the web Intercourse Trafficking Act (FOSTA): Senate Passes Bill generating Online Platforms accountable for Third-Party information Enabling prohibited Sex-Trafficking

On March 21, 2018, The Senate Passed “FOSTA,” otherwise known since the “Allow States and Victims to Fight on line Sex Trafficking Act.” H.R. 1865, 115th Cong. (2018). FOSTA produces an exception to part 230 of the Communications Decency Act (“CDA”), which gives web sites immunity for content published by third events.

Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Missouri), introduced the bill on 3 rd , 2017 april. In February, it passed the home with 388 votes in benefit and 25 votes against. A week ago, FOSTA cleared the Senate, making 97 votes in favor and just 2 votes against.
